Piotr Kopszak

Piotr Kopszak was a curator in the Polish Art Collection of the National Museum in Warsaw from 1991 until2010. He specializes in Polish 19th century painting, specifically the oeuvre of Olga Boznańska. Piotr Kopszak curated numerous exhibitions devoted to Polish painting around 1900 (most recently Symbolism in Poland and Britain at the Tate Britain in 2009 with Alison Smith and Andrzej Szczerski). He wrote his Ph.D. dissertation on the art criticism of Teodor de Wyzewa, and has published several popular books on Polish artists (Wojciech Gerson, Jan Stanisławski, Teodor Axentowicz and Olga Boznańska). Presently he is in charge of online publication of the collection at the National Museum in Warsaw.
