Author Biography

Amy Hetherington

Amy Hetherington is a research student at the University of Leicester’s School of Museum Studies, currently undertaking her field research. Her project focuses on tracking the change in design practices in galleries since the inclusion of digital technologies became popular and the reaction and use of these design changes by child visitors. Amy’s background is originally in Classical Studies, with a BA and MA degree focusing on architecture of the Greek and Roman periods. This led to an interest in museology in 2008 when she undertook the MA degree in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester. She has worked in gallery design, education and event organisation in various museums in Ontario, Canada, before undertaking the current PhD.
