Call for Submissions

We are calling for submissions to this guest edited issue of First Monday on the theme “Youth, Digital Media, and Civic Engagement.”Research should address youth digital engagement writ large and/or digital participatory life expansively defined in any social, political, and/or cultural life realm from young children to young adults. Any topic relevant to youth digital engagement is welcome such as community, advocacy, problem solving, rights, learning, social movements, policy initiatives, consciousness raising, health and well-being, cultural production, data protection, patterns or trends etc. We welcome comparative work across generations, languages, nations, regions, collectivities, religions, etc. Additionally, work is welcome that considers traditionally underrepresented groups including but not limited to economic class, gender, race, ethnicity, etc. Scholarship is welcome from any disciplinary, regional, theoretical perspective, and methodological tradition. 

Deadlines and Dates

Initial short abstracts due from authors: Monday June 12th

Invited drafts due from authors: Monday October 30th 

Abstract Instructions
