Abstract

An electronic money revolution and an electronic cash revolution are both transferring banking power from governments and banks into the hands of the average citizen.

Mark Bernkopf

Mark Bernkopf has served at the Open Market Operations Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and in the research unit of the White House Office of Communications. He is now an independent consultant in Arlington, Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C. Toward the end of last year, Bernkopf prepared two in-depth studies on electronic cash for overseas clients.
