Capacity and Needs Assessment for Establishing a Syndromic Surveillance System in Rural China: A Mixed Study

This mixed study assessed the capacity and needs for establishing a syndromic surveillance system in rural China. Findings showed that the study sites had basic capacity for establishing syndromic surveillance system, but potential obstacles lied in the data collection and reporting, data quality control, acceptability of local workers and long-term sustainability. Customized trainings and incentive measures were necessary to facilitate its implementation.Downloads
